The H200 device can be configured by local USB or via DHCP settings, however, the most common and popular method is via the Amino service assurance platform called Orchestrate.
This article outlines the elements of the Orchestrate system which you will immediate find useful when configuring your H200 device.
Orchestrate has 3 main sections which serve separate but important areas:
1 - System
The System module of Orchestrate is where you insert/upload the details of your STBs so that you can then find, access, configure, control them via Orchestrate.
You can also search for devices, delete devices and manage users for your company.
2 - Manage
The Manage module is where most of your initial configuration will be done once your STB is registered via the System module.
In the Manage module you can Create a Group for any number of your H200s to go into that will apply the relevant settings for any devices included in the group.
Those settings include:
STB firmware version:
Published firmware should be available in a drop-down menu in your group. We always advise that you keep your STBs running the latest available firmware (in order to get the benefit of any recent security updates and new features) and check the release notes to be aware of handy new features that have been added since your previous firmware.
Your STBs are very versatile and so there are quite a lot of potential settings which you can apply.
Once you select a firmware version you will be able to add any parameters which that firmware supports.
For any info about the parameters please ask your supplier or Amino support if you have a direct support account with Amino.
Point the Amino Browser on your H200 to an external server:
If you have a web-based middleware or server you want to point the H200 at this is also possible via the parameters in your group.
Setting using the parameter "tvapp.package_id" to "com.aminocom.browser" will direct the STB to activate the browser component.
You can then direct that browser to your desired web location using the parameter webapp.homepage as in the illustration below:
Load an App:
If your use-case includes loading your own Android app then you can also direct the STB to download that app and run make it available to run on the STB. A popular use-case for this is if you're working with one of our Digital Signage partners to manage content via their system and run and manage the app on your H200 devices.
3 - Resolve
Resolve is where you can monitor your devices and access them to collect information or conduct troubleshooting.
For any H200 device you can see basic information and launch into other areas for more details.
You will see direct buttons for restarting or resetting the device, either now or at some later scheduled time and buttons for:
- Launch Remote Screen
- Launch Remote Terminal
- View Diagnostic Info
Launch Remote Screen lets you create a connection to that device and see what is on the screen and provides a 'virtual remote' (you can select the remote control model to match yours) and remotely control the H200 just like you were in front of it with an IR remote control. You will also see anything that an end user does via their remote control so it can be a good way to get a user to show you what they're trying to do or demonstrate what menu options they should select for their needs.
you will also notice 3 tabs on the right side which show more information.
1 - H200 tab shows you the model of STB that you're connected to
2 - The TV tab shows information gathered by the H200 about the TV/Screen to which it is connected
3 - General Information tab expands to show lots more details of that particular H200 and all of its parameters, hardware info, firmware, type of connectivity in use (wifi or ethernet) and lots more.
you can also do a speed test to check if the H200 is installed in a location with good Internet connectivity
We hope that gives you a good overview of the main areas and that you will take a look around for yourself to find everything else that Orchestrate can do for you or reach out to your supplier to any further information and take a look at the rest of the Amino knowledgebase articles for more specific details on the many areas of functionality your H200 STBs have.
