Engage TLS version 1.0 and 1.1 disabling advisory

Dear Valued Amino Customer,

This message serves as notice that Amino will be disabling TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1 on the Engage platform from October 24th.

Overview

Transport Layer Security (TLS) is the protocol Amino Engage uses for setting up an encrypted channel with the client devices. TLS 1.0 dates back to 1999 and, over time, several security weaknesses have been found in this protocol version. Over the past several years, internet standards and regulatory bodies have deprecated or disallowed TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1, due to a variety of security issues, and to address this security concern, Amino will disable TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1 on October 24th. From this date onwards, TLS version 1.2 will be enforced.

Affected devices

Amino started the introduction of TLS 1.2 support on client devices circa 2016, meaning up-to-date devices will continue to work normally and no impact is expected.

We have also been preparing this change for 2 years and have contacted every customer running firmware without TLS v1.2 support. If you are still unsure about your devices, please refer to the minimum software requirement table below.
